Babyhood Classic Sleigh Cot and Bamboo mattress review

The Classic Sleigh package starts at $849 with a Bamboo mattress. We assess its 150 cm length, included toddler rail and value beside other Babyhood cots.

The trade-off

The 150 cm external length uses more room than the mattress itself. You pay for the shape in floor space as well as money. Tape the full footprint onto the floor and allow working space at the side, especially if the nursery also contains a glider or change table.

The Babyhood Classic Sleigh package starts at $849 with a Bamboo Breathe Eze Innerspring Mattress, checked 7 October 2026. It is a large timber cot with curved ends, a drop side and a toddler rail described on the separate cot page. The practical question is whether that furniture shape deserves 150 cm of your room.

Bench Score: 6.8 out of 10. This is the existing category score, not a new physical test. The bundle was originally scored from a much thinner package listing. The fuller cot specification below does not change that stored rating.

The short answer

Shortlist the Classic Sleigh if you want the traditional shape, have room around it and will use the toddler conversion. If the sleigh profile is optional, compare the Dune before paying for the larger frame.

Choose a finish before comparing quotes. A starting price for a range is not a promise that every available finish has the same final cost.

What the specification establishes

The Classic Sleigh cot page gives an assembled size of 150 × 78 × 106 cm, including castors, and a recommended mattress of 1295 × 690 × 100 mm. It describes New Zealand plantation timber, two base heights, a single-hand internal drop side, four lockable wheels and a bonus toddler rail.

The package listing identifies the cot and Bamboo mattress. Confirm the current cot version and conversion parts in the package rather than assuming a photograph establishes everything in the box.

The case for it

The toddler rail gives the conversion claim a useful piece of hardware. Keep it when you assemble the cot, with the instructions and spare fasteners. A kit stored and labelled from the beginning is easier to use later than one you have to source after a product refresh.

The specified mattress size is another concrete detail. It is the larger of the two rectangular Bamboo Breathe Eze sizes in this range. Our mattress review covers that 1295 × 690 mm model and explains its removable cover.

The current package price also gives a clear comparison point beside the Amani and Georgia. Calculate delivery and any assembly cost before choosing between them. A cot is bulky enough that a small sticker-price difference can disappear at checkout.

The case against it

The 150 cm external length uses more room than the mattress itself. You pay for the shape in floor space as well as money. Tape the full footprint onto the floor and allow working space at the side, especially if the nursery also contains a glider or change table.

The drop side has not been operated by our editorial team. A feature that sounds helpful on paper still needs a demonstration by the seller. Check how it locks and how the current manual directs you to use it. Do not infer long-term smoothness from the product description.

The old category score contains a modest build mark because the original package evidence was sparse. That is a limit of the scored evidence, not proof that the furniture has failed a durability test. Equally, fuller marketing copy does not establish physical performance. We retain the same score wherever this package appears.

How it compares

The Georgia Sleigh package is $829 at the checked date and its cot page publishes the same external dimensions. The closer comparison is styling and exact supplied components. Neither page proves a better real-world latch or easier assembly.

The Amani starts at $949. Ask what matters to you beyond the appearance before paying the difference. The Classic Curve is another existing Babyhood assessment; check the range guide for its current finish-specific listings rather than treating its older review price as today’s quote.

Verdict

The Classic Sleigh is a reasonable style-led package if its size works and the current order includes the conversion rail. Its strongest argument is a complete, specified furniture-and-mattress purchase. Its weakness is the space taken by the frame when a simpler cot might serve you equally well.

Read the cot standards guide and mattress fit guide before setting it up. The bamboo range directory links every checked finish and package.
